On June 11th, 2012 Evan Hurst posted on the homosexual blog truth wins out:
"Carrie Underwood, American Idol winner and darling of the country music world, which some view as the last “conservative” bastion in music [supposedly kinda not really if you actually know people in the industry], is now on record as a supporter of full marriage rights for gays and lesbians. This is also notable because Carrie is a committed Evangelical Christian...... She said, however, that her liberal attitude towards same-sex marriage comes because of her Christian values, rather than in spite of them......."
After quoting Mrs. Underwood, Hurst proclaims:
“Because of her Christian values.” Boom! That’s what’s really is coming in the younger generations, and if I were a member of the old guard Religious Right, I think I’d be freaked out. As it is, the latest polls show that an overwhelming 73% of Americans between 18 and 34 are supporters of marriage equality, and that includes a heck of a lot of Christians."
I'm not sure of what "polls" he was referring to since he did not lists them, but knowing how bias "polls" are and how easily "polls" can be manipulated to give the desired results I won't waist time on that now.
As for the Underwood support, one comment posted at the blog quite correctly said:
"This is clearly a testimony to the confusion in many poorly taught compromising churches and to the influence of gays inside the entertainment industry.
I am almost certain that Carrie was wooed by gays around her, weather open or in the closet. They are good at subtle feeling-out and steering stars into gay friendly mind sets."
Underwood's statements are clear evidence that she is not a Bible student, which is unfortunately he case for far to many people who claim to be Christians. While the homosexual community sees such an endorsement as evidence of their orientation's credibility, thinking people who know their Bible can see it for what it truly is. A well meaning but ignorant Christian who is in great need of a true Bible believing church. At some point she is going to have to face I knowledgeable Christian interviewer who will expose her lack of biblical understanding and she will have to acknowledge her lack of knowledge or confess her lack of true faith in God's word revealing that she falls under the category of those whom Jesus said: "For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God." John 12:43. And as Paul Said: "For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge." Romans 10:2.
I would ask sister Underwood if she has ever read Romans chapter one 18-32.
