A few weeks ago Pastor Donald A. McClurkin Jr. stepped into the pulpit at Perfecting Faith Church where he pastors, to deliver one of his usual dynamic sermons. During his message, he informed the congregation that he had been told about plans to mention his name in an unfavorable manner in an upcoming episode of the popular hit FOX TV drama Empire.
He told the congregation that he was asked if he wanted to sue to prevent the abuse, and that some even encouraged him to do so. But he told the congregation that he informed his advisors that he was not going to take that easy route, he said that it was more important to him to represent God in a manner that he felt would bring glory to Him. And so he chose to look at the attack as another opportunity to introduce Jesus to people who would hear about him because of the attack that might not otherwise have paid him any attention. As reported in the press, and social media, Empire did indeed follow through with their planed attack.
To help Deitrick haddon, (who took to Twitter and inquired about what the episode scene was saying about McClurkin), and others who may have missed the message being sent by the scene, I searched Youtube to find a clip of the episode segment to watch so that I could provide the following.
In their second season premier, a scene takes place in the office of Jamal Lion, played by openly homosexual actor Jussie Smollett. The homosexual activist group GLAD[1] is featured in the episode and has selected “Fashion Queen” star Mr. Lawrence (referred to as Miss Lawrence), as their representative, sent to try to get Jamal to sing at their awards event. Mr. Lawrence stops by to congratulate Jamal on his winning a GLAD award and tries to get Jamal to sing a duet with him at the GLAD awards show. Jamal’s assistant, Becky (Gabourey Sidibe), is a Donald A. McClurkin Jr. fan, and Mr. Lawrence tells her that Donnie McClurkin is going to be at the GLAD awards program, to get her to attend, hoping that her attendance will ensure Jamal will consent to attend and sing for them.
The insinuation of course is that Donald A. McClurkin Jr. is still a Homosexual and attends homosexual events, in spite of his very public claim to have been delivered from homosexuality and being a dedicated Christian sold out to Jesus Christ.
Some believe it was a slap at McClurkin’s testimony by the creator of Empire and open homosexual activist, Lee Daniels, who himself seems to be pushing the homosexual activist agenda, which is in part, a determination to destroy key moral norms and desensitize the public to perversion and obscenity. (I met him some years ago along with a group of other press, and I noticed then that he was not interested in Jesus or the gospel).
He is also apparently, intolerant of those who proclaim that they have been delivered from the homosexual life. Rejection of ex-homosexuals is common among homosexual activists.
Daniels, who seems to be Pimping a segment of society by feeding them hefty doses of vulgarity and obstinacies to milk them of their money, has often demonstrated his lack of respect for Christ, Christianity and the Christian clergy.
His cinema talents has nothing to do with his homosexuality, contrary to the misguided views of some these days, but his millions has come (to a great extent), from his feeding a segment of societies lust for filth and depravity. From the degrading sex scene of Halley Barry in “Monster Ball”, the vulgarity and depravity of Monique in “Precious” and the now well known depravity of “Empire”, Lee Daniels has made and is making a killing feeding the spiritual and psychological depravity of human souls with the kind of smut that makes our job as Christians all the more difficult to accomplish.
Depravity is a booming industry, and it will be until Jesus returns to clean things up.
But until then, we as Christians have to deal with such disrespect and marginalization, not only by reacting with passive love talk that shows just how tolerant and forgiving we can be as Christians. That has its place, and all true Christians must respond with love as our motivation. Pastor McClurkin is certainly doing his part to hold up that standard in keeping with the teaching of the Bible.
“…but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously” (2 Peter 2:20-23)
We are also given charge to rebuke those who claim to be in the body of Christ and yet act and teach contrary to biblical truth:
"For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, the Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
(Titus 1:10-13)
But it is important to remember that we also have the divinely given right to speak out against ungodliness, unrighteousness and sacrilegious behavior by the ungodly, in fact, we are mandated by God to do so. (Eph. 5:11) Jesus was our example, and he did not hesitate to address the wickedness of others. (Luke 13:32, Matt. 22:33).
For many Christians, that mandate seems to be lost in translation, as they seek to appease the wicked and maintain a favored relationship with them; Pastor McClurkin does not suffer from that condition.
Make no mistake about it; while Pastor McClurkin is careful to maintain proper Christian decorum with those who clearly do not respect or appreciate the Christian way, he is no coward when it comes to speaking the truth about sin.
He informed the congregation that he does not watch Empire, and while not dictating what the attendees should watch, he made it clear that as Christians we should know our obligation to God and how that relates to what we entertain ourselves with.
One reporter pointed out that Empire has a large church audience, I would not contest that as I know all too well just how carnal many professing Christians are. But that is no reflection on God or the true church, it is merely evidence that many who call themselves “Christians”, are not all that they claim to be.
IT IS PROOF THAT MUCH OF THE SO CALLED CHURCH IS COMPRISED OF LUKE WARM BELIEVERS AND MANY THAT ARE NOT CHRISTIANS AT ALL OTHER THAN IN CLAIM AND NAME. IT ALSO EXPLAINS WHY THE HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVISTS HAVE GAINED SUCH CONTROL OVER PUBLIC OPINION AND VICTORIES IN THE COURTS. IT IS EVIDENCE THAT WE ARE INDEED LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS.
While very small in number, homosexual activists have cleverly targeted for infiltration, areas in society where the largest number of people can be influenced such as church, the press, magazines, education, politics, the Government, media, entertainment, Broadway, the music industry, Hollywood and comic books. The same is true of their corporate presence. They have patiently gone up the ranks in all those areas and moved into positions of power where they then use those mediums and their power to influence the thinking of the public. This is resulting in a growth in homosexual practice, mainly among the youth who are their primary targets.
Since they generally do not procreate, they must utilize other methods to ensure they multiply. Using their new found judicial and political power to force changes in the laws to permit them to adopt, and due to the moral depravity of our society that produces an unlimited number of orphans needing adoption, they have an endless supply of human souls to corrupt and create in their sociological, psychological and spiritual image.
Lee Daniels is only one of the many successful homosexuals who use their power to twist the thinking of those who will listen, to conform to the now popular anti-Christian, free sex and mindless vulgarity-obscenity mentality.
I commend Pastor Donald A. McClurkin for has splendid restraint, and pray that Lee Daniels and all other homosexuals will take note that they will have no excuse in the Day of Judgment if they fail to repent and turn to Jesus Christ for salvation.
It will be interesting to see if any of the homosexual activist groups who claim to be for tolerance and anti-bullying, will take Lee Daniels to task for his inappropriate use of his TV drama to jab at Pastor McClurkin.
Even so Lord Jesus, Come quickly!
[Please note: I am not a representative for Pastor McClurkin and I am not a fan of Empire nor do I watch the program. All show information was gleamed from other news articles and online video footage of the episode scene that I am writing about.
