On December 3, 2014 a Staten Island grand jury decided not to indict Officer Daniel Pantaleo, an officer with a history of mistreating Blacks while performing his police duties.
What amazes me is the blatant disrespect those involved with ignoring the use of an illegal choke hold by police, and the unnecessary use of deadly force for a non-violent offense that was not even visibly an offense from the video footage. Garner never even raised his hands in a threatening manner to merit his take down, yet no charges against the cops?
What this tells me is that there is an “old boys” or “White man” strangle-hold on the PD’s and judicial process throughout our nation that is determined to protect White officers against being punished for killing what they seem to consider to be worthless black people.
I would like to know when a non-white committee of experts will be put together and really empowered to investigate the entire police and judiciary system with particular focus on the white mentality and hiring process that allows clearly unstable white men, many of whom seem not to like or value black lives, to get hired to protect non-white lives?
It would be interesting to determine, just how many of them are unduly on the police force as a result of special help from their white friends and relatives even though they actually do not qualify to be police due to psychological, emotional or other hidden or covered personal conditions that should have prohibited them from getting hired or even passing the test.
I can’t be the only person who has watched white street cops and listened to their manner of conversation and noticed right away that they were not the kind of people that should be policing anyone.
Now, for the record, I am not saying that there are not black and other non-white police who are unstable as well who should not be police, but they are not the ones killing unarmed black people at an alarming rate. It is some white cops who are acting as if this is the “wild-wild west”, or 1930-60 Mississippi. Note, not all white cops, some, many, but not all. There are many fine stable and caring white police patrolling our streets, and the hateful white cops make it hard for the good white cops. Which is all the more reason that the good white cops need to stand up. But then there is that "blue wall" matter, and that non-verbal threat that "if you cross us, well find a way to get you back" condition in the department ranks.
I am amazed that these conditions still exist in the police departments.
I am more amazed that after all this time, we are still going through the same old motions of protest, sound bites, photo ops, media chasing and pontificating in press, TV talk shows and News, and no real systematic probe and correcting ever really takes place.
It seems clear that the game being played by most if not all politicians and city leaders around our nation is, say what they want to hear but do very little to make real lasting change for the better of all.
It seems that the reality is that, their secret connections and not so secret connections with powers who are not really interested in resolving the problem of unstable (or stable ) white men unnecessarily kill black people, because they (semi-secretly) do not value black lives or actually dislike or hate black people.
For the record and for those apparently many white bloggers and reporters who just don’t care about getting the point being made but are only interested in zeroing in on any comments that they can use to muddy the water and confuse the real issues, let me plainly state that I do not believe nor am I saying that all white people are haters of black people. Nor am I suggesting that there are no good white people in our society and in positions of leadership. The vast majority no doubt are great people when it comes to ethnic relations. And they think clear enough to know when black people are being victimized by white authorities. (Haven’t you noticed the many white protesters among the blacks throughout our cities these past months?) I am focusing on the few white leaders and officers, (though obviously numerous in the grand scheme of things), who clearly have conditions that drive them to be opportunistic when it comes to harming black people, and using their positions of authority to do so.
The Ferguson grand jury was mostly white with very few blacks and only 1 black male. What was the make-up of the Garner grand jury?
“Of the 23 members of the Garner grand jury, 14 are white, nine are non-white and at least five are black, according to two people familiar with the grand jury's racial makeup.”
Why was the Grand Juries mostly white when deciding a case concerning a black death? Could it be to make sure that: “a simple majority of 12 votes to indict” would not be likely?
Not only should Officer Daniel Pantaleo have been charged in the killing, but the other officers who assisted him and did nothing to stop him from applying the illegal choke hold even after the victim cried that he could not breathe. They played a part and failed to make any attempt to prevent the death. Therefore they should also share the guilt.
It seems clear to me that these hostile whites in leadership know the game well and they play it much better than our black leaders do. It is also clear to me that when we get black leaders who could pose a serious threat to their strangle hold on the system, they either, throw money at them to get them to stay in line with the white agenda, which many black leaders seem too happily do for that payday. Or they set up those black leaders who will not compromise for a price, by trying to discredit them as black leaders. When that fails, they have no problem with assassinations as an option. But that is rarely the case because there are so many ways that they have found effective in keeping black leadership in line. But I digress.
Needless to say, Garner and Brown will not be the last time white cops unnecessarily kill blacks, the question is, when will it be the last time that we as a nation allow white killer cops and their protectors, to get away with it?
